Thank you 2018

You might have long list of goals you’d like to achieve. Therefore, your decision is very important to accomplish that goal and sometimes it’s not easy to make one. As for me, one of the biggest decisions I made in 2018 was probably getting out of my comfort zone.

Leaving a company where I worked for more than four years, was a very difficult decision for me. I’ve learned a lot there and I’ve enjoyed working with the entire team. I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to work with them. Each of them is inspiring, creative, brilliant, yet very supportive and loving. We work, laugh, eat, watch movies, and travel together. We spent a lot of time together.

I want to use this opportunity to thank them for the guidance, support, and encouragement for the past four years. I’m surely gonna miss you, guys.

So many things happened in 2018. Alhamdulillah, I’ve started to learn how to read Quran from the very beginning, finished my 3rd level of Korean language class, won my first ever logo design contest, volunteered, solo traveled, visited Japan for the first time (yay!), got a new job, and I made new friends. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah).

Most importantly, in 2018, I have been trying to get closer to Allah. I also have been trying to learn something new, pushed myself to the limit, challenged my fears, stepped out of my comfort zones, and have been trying hard to be the better version of me. I’ll do it better this year, insya Allah.

Let 2018 be the reflection not only for what I’ve done, but also for my past and the sins I have committed. Astagfirullah (may Allah forgive me). But what matters is that reflecting should be lead to focus more on obedience to Allah and does not lead to despair and loss of hope. I realized that there are still a lot of things for me to learn, and I still have buckets-list unchecked. So, thank you, 2018. I’ve learned a lot.
